These Terms apply to our website, estimates, scheduling, and moving-related services provided by Fortress Moving & Storage.
Estimates & Pricing
- Estimates are based on the details you provide (inventory, addresses, access, dates, and requested services).
- If key details change (additional items, stairs/long carries, extra stops, packing requests, storage time, etc.), pricing may change accordingly.
- For interstate household goods moves, federal rules describe estimate and consumer information requirements.
Scheduling, Deposits, and Date Holds
- A deposit may be required to reserve your date (amount varies by move size and schedule).
- Date holds are not final until confirmed by Fortress.
Changes, Reschedules, and Cancellations
- If you need to reschedule, notify us as early as possible so we can offer alternate dates.
- Cancellations within a short window may result in fees depending on crew/truck allocation and time reserved.
Customer Responsibilities (Access, Readiness, and Accuracy)
To avoid delays and unexpected add-ons, you agree to:
- Provide accurate addresses and contact information
- Ensure safe/legal access for the truck and crew (parking permissions, gate codes, elevator reservations, building COIs if required)
- Have items ready as agreed (unless packing is included)
- Identify items requiring special handling in advance (pianos, safes, large stone pieces, fragile antiques)
Items We Cannot Move
For safety and legal reasons, we may refuse or remove:
- Hazardous materials (chemicals, fuels, propane tanks, fireworks)
- Perishables and open liquids
- Firearms/ammunition
- Illegal items or items you do not own/have authority to move
If prohibited items are found, the customer may be responsible for delays or disposal costs.
Packing Services & Materials
If packing is requested:
- Packing labor and materials may be billed as agreed in the estimate or order
- Customer-packed boxes may be limited in damage coverage if internal packing was not performed by our team
Loading, Unloading, and Additional Handling
Extra handling may apply for:
- Long carries (far distance from truck to door)
- Multiple flights of stairs (where applicable)
- Extra stops or waiting time (elevator delays, access issues)
- Oversized/heavy items requiring additional crew or equipment
Storage
If storage is requested:
- Storage fees apply based on duration and space used
- Redelivery scheduling depends on availability
- Items must be properly listed/inventoried before storage intake where required
Damage, Loss, and Claims
- Inspect items at delivery and note concerns before final sign-off whenever possible.
- Claims must be submitted within the time window stated in your paperwork.
- Coverage options (valuation) vary by move type and agreement.
Payment Terms
- Accepted payment methods: Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), digital wallets (PayPal, Zelle) and cash.
- Payment timing: typically due at completion/delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Late or declined payments may result in additional fees where lawful

You agree not to misuse the website, submit false information, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with site functionality.
Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
- Governing law: State of Texas (and applicable federal rules for interstate moves).
